Halo Infinite will officially be with us later today (December 8th), and while it has already been confirmed that the campaign will not receive a pre-download, at least we now know the “approximate” download size of the entire package.
343 Industries says these download sizes vary by platform, but if you already have multiplayer beta installed, you’d expect about 25.86 GB for the campaign and others 3.97 GB for multiplayer update of today.
As you can see, those who haven’t installed multiplayer will still have to make room for around 48.42GB in total, which still isn’t a bad thing – especially considering Halo: The Master Chief Collection is pushing 100GB right now.
In fact, we’re a little surprised at how small these installation sizes are Apparently. It could very well be the result of compression tools from Microsoft and 343 Industries in action – and the good news is that the download shouldn’t take long.
343 Industries explained that the team would like to allow the pre-download of the Halo Infinite campaign, but due to a series of technical limitations, that’s not possible. On Reddit it was written: “I understand the confusion and in an ideal world we would like to enable pre-download. That said, there are technical limitations. Since” Halo Infinite “is the game executable and is now available for download. In free to play multiplayer version there is no easy way to create a “login time” for some specific parts of the game (ie the campaign) and not for others. ” Because of this, the pre-download could not be released.
