4K Dashboard: How to Enable New Feature on Xbox Series X

The 4K Dashboard Update has now been released to all Xbox Series X users, increasing the graphical user interface resolution by a significant degree and fulfilling the requests of many users of the new generation that was released last year.

It’s available as part of a recent free console update, but some have pointed out that even after the update, the dashboard appeared to be stuck at 1080p. Fortunately this appears to be a minor bug and there is a workaround for this.

Eventually, the update will be forced on everyone, but you can speed up the process in the meantime. By visiting your settings, you can manually send the update to your console now, and it couldn’t be simpler:

  1. Go to system settings.
  2. Go to the system.
  3. Click on “Updates.”
  4. Select “Update Console”.
  5. Your console will be updated and then enabled with the 4K dashboard.

How to activate the 4K panel if it is not already active

While you may have received the update, some have mentioned that they haven’t seen any changes. Looks like it hasn’t changed for some users.

  1. If you’re in the same boat, here’s how to fix it:
  2. Go to system settings.
  3. Go to general.
  4. Select “TV and Display Options.”
  5. In the Video section, change the resolution to 1080p.
  6. When does it say “Keep this resolution?” select Yes.
  7. Once changed, change the settings back to 4K UHD.
  8. When does it say “Keep this resolution?” select Yes.
  9. Your dashboard should now be displayed in 4K!

After these simple steps you will be able to use your dashboard on Xbox Series X in all its 4K glory. enjoy!
