A year ago today, the PlayStation 5 first appeared in the US and Japan. Even if players in Europe had to wait a week longer, Sony is already celebrating the console’s anniversary on the PlayStation Blog. Among other things, the company presents some figures for the PS5 that were achieved between November 12, 2020 and September 30, 2021.
Together with partners from all over the world, over 360 titles have now been published for PlayStation 5, which have been played for more than 4.6 billion hours on the next-gen hardware. In addition, the manufacturer provides an overview of which titles are responsible for the most hours of play in the first PS5 year. These are the Top 10:
PlayStation Studios alone are currently developing over 25 games, including titles such as Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnark and Gran Turismo 7. With regard to the current console shortage, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan thanks the fans for the patience. Sony is doing everything in its power to produce new consoles as soon as possible. Due to the ongoing lack of chips, however, the production forecast for the PS5 had to be lowered recently (we reported).
