Deathloop’s director has been named Arkane Lyon’s new boss, and is already working on a new game
Dinga Bakaba was one of the co-directors of this year’s successful Deathloop, and has now been promoted to head of Arkane Lyon. Dinga Bakaba took over as director of the company’s studio in October following the departure of former boss Romuald Capron.
The news comes from the VGC website, which reports that Bakaba was appointed to the position after former studio head Romauld Capron left the company for a new career in educational games.
Dinga Bakaba has been an instrumental part of Arkane Lyon for years, being with the developer for over a decade. This new role does not affect his current position within the studio, as he will remain co-creative director alongside Sebastien Mitton.
Now with Bakaba at the head of the studio, it will be interesting to see where Arkane Lyon goes next. While Deathloop was in many ways an exciting new experience, we want to see what new games from this studio look like now that it’s part of Xbox Game Studios.

Whatever Arkane Lyon does next is sure to be intriguing, but it will be curious to see if we continue to have similar stealth experiences with their next title or something entirely new. Remember that Redfall, the next Xbox exclusive that arrives in a few months, will be created by Arkane.
The Creative Director of Deathloop, Dinga Bakaba, has been appointed as the new Studio Head of Arkane Lyon. Great choice!
The Lyon studio is working on a new, unannounced project since at the very least September 2021, a LinkedIn profile shows.https://t.co/8Esegz9izA pic.twitter.com/rjkJdD0wg1

An interesting curiosity pointed out by Klobrille on Twitter is that Arkane Lyon has a new project already, but as Deathloop came out two months ago, it will certainly take a while to find out what it will be, but this time it shouldn’t be exclusive to the Playstation. Let Redfall come in the meantime!
