Even more comic book hero action from Insomniac Games

In addition to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomiac Games and Sony have announced another comic adaptation, Marvel’s Wolverine, as part of the PlayStation Showcase 2021, which is in development for PlayStation 5. A planned release period was not given, but the developers write on PlayStation Blog: “When we were working on Marvel’s Spider-Man, there were times when we all – Insomniac, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel – thought about what to do after the wall crawler. And even in those early conversations, Wolverine kept going mentioned as a character we’d love to work on together. Then a few years later we were suddenly in front of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel with our official pitch for a PlayStation 5 game about the Adamantium Talon Mutant!

So many on the Insomniac team are huge fans of the character, and one of the main reasons we were drawn to him, interestingly, is similar to Spider-Man: both heroes are deeply committed to protecting those who are can not protect yourself.

Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone game produced by Brian Horton (Creative Director) and Cameron Christian (Game Director), who were previously creative directors of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – a game that we at Insomniac are very proud of are. As with our Spider-Man games, we’re not just about respecting the DNA that makes the character so popular, we’re also trying to bring a breath of fresh air and reflect the soul of Insomniac. While Marvel’s Wolverine is still in the very early stages of development, my insights into the emotional story and sleek gameplay (well, got it?) Are enough to tell you that the team is working on something really special. “
