Forza Horizon 5 beats Elden Ring, first on Steam sales

Write it down, Forza Horizon 5 will beat the record for your entire saga! The Playground Games game debuted at the top of the Steam charts, beating Age of Empires 4 and the pre-sales of Elden Ring, which has to settle for third place in the top 10 of the Valve platform. Yes, not even From Software was able to stop him!

Note that Forza Horizon 5 is in the top 10 sales on Steam for the third consecutive week and has already surpassed one million players before the release date – only from people who paid for early access! Absurd success! However, Xbox Game Studios is to be congratulated as Age of Empires 4 still very strong and also beat Elden Ring!

We couldn’t imagine a different outcome for Forza Horizon 5, which already has a million players although it hasn’t been released yet and which could really give Microsoft great satisfaction in a Christmas perspective, strongly boosting Xbox sales. Microsoft has a highly powerful franchise in its hands.

The fact that the top two positions in the Steam ranking are occupied by productions from Xbox Game Studios is certainly significant, confirming a trend that has been going on for some time and always surprises anyone who imagines the Xbox Game Pass as a limit in this regard.

See last week’s sales ranking:

  1. Forza Horizon 5
  2. Age of Empires IV
  3. Elden Ring
  4. New World
  5. Forza Horizon 5
  6. Age of Empires IV
  7. Back 4 Blood
  8. Football Manager 2022
  9. Index
  10. Lost Ark Platinum

Note that Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Empires 4 occupy two ranking positions each! They are really strong sales! Another noteworthy point is that of the top 10 games, six are on the Xbox Game Pass, What Back 4 Blood – which remains strong in sales – and Football Manager 2022 which was very highly rated by critics (87 on Metacrict).

Microsoft will certainly have a very happy Christmas with so much significant result, and it shows that Phil Spencer’s strategy for the Xbox division is working.
