Game director leaves Relic Entertainment after 24 years


A veteran is leaving the Relic Entertainment development studio after 24 years with the company. According to a report by colleagues at Aroged, this is Design Director Quinn Duffy. Most recently, he was working on the real-time strategy game Age of Empires 4 (from 53,99 at buy), which was launched in October this year.

On his LinkedIn profile, he briefly commented on his departure after so many years: “I’m very proud of the team’s work on Age of Empires 4. At Relic, I was passionate about both history and the genre of real-time strategy, so I couldn’t have been happier to help with a new part of it to create a brand that is as popular as it is iconic. ”

Quinn Duffy has worked on numerous games during his Relic Entertainment career. These include the two previously published episodes of Company of Heroes, Space Marine and Impossible Creatures. For all of these titles he was involved as a designer or even as the responsible game director. Reasons for his departure are not yet known.
