Golden Joystick Awards 2021: These are the 10 games nominated for GOTY


The Games Awards Ceremony Golden Joystick Awards 2021 revealed its full list of nominees in all categories. The prestigious British Awards will celebrate what will be their 39th Golden Joystick Awards on November 23 in an all-digital fashion; while voting will be available until November 5th. Any user can vote online until November 5th.

Any game published between November 20, 2020 and October 19, 2021 is eligible for voting. The organization, presented by GamesRadar, revealed on Tuesday the complete list of nominees for all categories. These nominees were chosen by a panel of members from PC Gamer, EDGE, Retro Gamer, Play Magazine and Future Games Show.

The most nominated games for the awards are two from Xbox Game Studios: Deathloop e Psychonauts 2. The title of the Arkane is competing:

  • Best multiplayer
  • best studio of the year
  • Best performance (twice)
  • Game of the Year for PlayStation
  • Game of the Year (GOTY)

The title of Double Fine is running for the following awards:

  • best narrative
  • Best visual design
  • best studio of the year
  • Best performance
  • Xbox Game of the Year
  • Game of the Year (GOTY)

The title of the most supported Playstation of the year is Ratchet and Clank and competes for the following awards:

  • Best visual design
  • Best performance
  • Game of the Year for PlayStation
  • Game of the Year (GOTY)

The most prestigious award, the Game of the Year (GOTY), there are ten candidates to gain this recognition:

  • Psychonauts 2
  • Deathloop
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Wildermyth
  • Hitman 3
  • The Forgotten City
  • It Takes Dois
  • Metroid Dread
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition

the games of Xbox Game Studios have more referrals than the others, and we must remember that this list does not include Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite due to release dates. Returnal was left out of GOTY. Note also that this is not the Game Awards, which will only run in December, this “GOTY” is from the GamesRadar team.
