Gran Turismo 7 is scheduled for March 4, 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. According to its own information, the studio is pursuing the goal of uniting the entire range of car culture of the past in a single video game with GT 7. It was already known that the GT campaign mode, desired by many fans and often missed in GT Sport, will celebrate a comeback – including features such as license checks, car washes and oil changes, of course. Not to forget the tuning aspect, which should make up an important part of the gaming experience with adjustments to engine power, suspension, gearbox, brakes, tires and more. However, the article on the PlayStation Blog already shows that you will obviously need an internet connection for the campaign as well, so you may not race offline if you wish.

Also included is an editor for your own paintwork and stickers as well as the elaborately designed photo mode Scapes, with which you could already compose fantastic pictures in a spectacular setting in the sports offshoot. Fans can also look forward to the return of iconic original tracks from the early parts of the series, including Trial Mountain and the High Speed Ring.

According to Yamauchi, GT7 was deliberately designed as a “car collecting game”. Accordingly, not only will there be numerous models in the game, but according to Yamauchi it will also be about presenting a certain collection of cars that have a cultural meaning from the past, present and future. With the GT Café, a new component will therefore find its way into the game. There you have to complete missions in which you can win cars in races around the globe. Nevertheless, it should still be possible to purchase new vehicles from Brand Central or the used car dealer.

Polyphony Digital apparently has something very special in mind when it comes to changing weather conditions and times of day. Yamauchi said:

“The time / weather change simulation brought to life in GT7 is unique to Polyphony Digital. They explore the complexities of nature and now bring it all into a video game. In terms of an incredibly large amount of meteorological observation data, we have one for Gran Turismo -Series unique processes simulating spatial and temporal conditions for the particle size distribution and concentration distribution of aerosol particles in the atmosphere on a global environmental scale.

The validity of the simulation was checked using Scapes HDR images. To do this, we have collected data from several thousand spots around the world. This enabled us to display real and complex sky landscapes and changes in light for different times of the day and weather. ”
