Halo Infinite: How to fix the ‘your account is not authorized’ issue
The second technical preview of Halo Infinite Beta is now available on Xbox (and PC), but you may be having an issue where it says “your account is not allowed to play Halo Infinite”, and no matter what you do, you simply ‘Can’t’, well get over it.
Do not worry! 343 Industries is aware of this issue, and the issue is on their side:
This error can also arise if you’re not on the gamertag you registered with and/or if another account is logged into your console at the same time. (or in rare cases, it could be a totally diff issue)
No need to reinstall the build and there’s not a problem with your key. (2/3)

Fortunately, there is a workaround that seems to be working for a lot of people, so let’s see how to do that. close the game manually pressing the Xbox Guide button on your controller, hovering over the Halo Infinite tile and pressing the Menu button followed by ‘Exit’.
Then you will need to follow the following instructions to restart the console:
- Go to settings’
- Select ‘Power and Startup Mode’
- Choose ‘Restart Now’
Alternatively, if that doesn’t work, you can perform a full reset with the following instructions:
- Go to settings’
- Select ‘Power and Startup Mode’
- Choose ‘Full shutdown’
- Manually turn the console back on
After completing these steps, you will hopefully find that Halo Infinite connects as expected and you can play the game. Unfortunately, not everyone is having 100% success with this method, but it’s the most successful workaround we’ve found so far. The same principle applies to PC users (restart PC and try again).
If you really can’t get into Halo Infinite after following this workaround a few times, it looks like you’re going to have to wait until 343 Industries finds a solution to the problem. Hopefully, it won’t be long before you’re on the battlefield!
