On September 10th, 2021 Zoink Games and Electronic Arts released the fairytale-scary action adventure Lost in Random for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch. The download via PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, eShop, Origin and Steam, where the previous user reviews have been “very positive”, costs 29.99 euros each. EA Play members pay three euros less, EA Play Pro members get direct access.

The manufacturer writes: “In the single-player action-adventure game, players immerse themselves in a dark and bizarre world in which every event and every decision is decided by the throw of the dice. In the realm of chance, they fight for success and honor in an unpredictable, constantly changing world. Lost in Random is part of the Official Selection of the Tribeca Festival 2021 and won the ‘Best Indie Game’ award at gamescom 2021.

Lost in Random tells the story of the sisters Even and Odd, who are helpless at the mercy of the evil queen and her dark cube. On Odds twelfth birthday, the sisters are separated, but together with her companion Dicey, Even travels through the six realms of Random to free her sister from the queen’s clutches. Dicey and Even compete against the queen’s henchmen in explosive dice battles and gigantic board game-like arenas. In the exciting mix of real-time action and the game over time, players have to adapt their strategies spontaneously and can collect cards in order to put together a powerful deck of cards with a wide variety of fighting skills. In an attempt to break the curse of Random and save Odd, gamers will encounter unique characters who challenge them in unexpected ways.

The dialogue in Lost in Random comes from Ryan North, the writer of Adventure Time, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl from Marvel Comics, and more. With each new twist, the players can dive deeper into the macabre atmosphere. With a style inspired by Tim Burton, Shaun Tan and Alice in Wonderland, the rich and visually unique locations bring the kingdom of Random to life in impressive ways. “

“The feeling of uncertainty was the ideal starting point for Lost in Random, rather than a specific game mechanism,” said Olov Redmalm, Game Director and Lead Writer at Zoink Games. “The overarching theme of chance helped us create every aspect of the game. Every single element fits in its own way in this dreamy world, enriching the entire experience. We have astute dialogues, mystery elements and an emotional story from scratch We are very much looking forward to the fact that the players in Lost in Random can face the fear of chance and see how this experience changes their view of life. We were able to depict all of this in the courageous Even. “
