Almost eight years after the launch of the Xbox One (from 199,95€ at buy) Microsoft has announced that the production of all models of the console has been discontinued. In a short statement, Cindy Walker from the Xbox team commented on the subject. Accordingly, the company wants to focus on the production of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in the future, which is why the production of all Xbox One consoles ended at the end of 2021.
Microsoft released several models in the last generation. After the first Xbox One in 2013, the smaller Xbox One S followed three years later. The console received an upgrade with the Xbox One X in 2017. Finally, a completely digital version of the Xbox One S followed in 2019. Microsoft recently revealed that no other Xbox generation has implemented more consoles than the current one with Series X and Series S at this time after the launch. However, exact numbers were not given called. Incidentally, according to a report by Bloomberg, Sony also wanted to end production of the PS4. Now, however, a million more copies will be made this year.
