More than 29 million concurrent users

The year 2022 is just a few weeks old. But even this short time was enough on Steam to set three records in a row. As the statistics from steamdb.info show, on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. German time, for the first time more than 29 million users were active at the same time, to be precise: 29,201,174!

This is not only an impressive figure in itself, but also means a new record – the third in just three weeks. The first record of the year in this category came on January 3rd, when more than 27.9 million users were active on Steam at the same time. But just a week later, this record was history again: on January 9, there were more than 28 million active users for the first time (we reported). The most recent jump is particularly noteworthy, however, as the new record is around a million higher.

It remains to be seen how long the new record will last, as Steam seems to continue to soar. Incidentally, the statistics do not show the proportion of users who were in a game or in other areas of the online platform at the time of the new peak.
