New record with more than 28 million simultaneously active users

2022 is already a year of superlatives for Steam, although it has not been two weeks under its belt. The reason for the joy is the second user record within just seven days.

As can be read on Steam’s statistics page, on January 9, 2022, more than 28 million users were simultaneously active at peak time – more than ever in the history of the online platform. The current record is exactly 28,230,661 users who were logged into Steam at the same time. How many of them were in a game is not known. Still, that’s a more than impressive number. Such games Dota 2, PUBG and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive can still boast particularly high numbers of players.

Plus, it’s another piece of evidence that Steam is currently soaring. Only seven days earlier, the online platform was able to set a new record with 27,942,458 simultaneously active users. It remains to be seen whether this trend will continue in the next few days and whether another success of this kind will follow.
