Nostalgic adventure trip announced in the 1980s

With Unusual Findings, the Argentine developers Epic Llama (Darkestville Castle) and publisher Buka Entertainment have announced a point’n’click adventure that will be released for PC in autumn 2021. A free demo can already be tried on Steam. A Kickstarter campaign is also to be launched on October 5th to fund implementations of the 2D pixel art adventure for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch.

In the game description it says: “It’s the ’80s and Christmas is just around the corner. Vinny, Nick and Tony are young and their new cable box just arrived. The same night they try to decode an adult pay-TV channel, they get it Distress signal from an alien spaceship after a crash landing in the forest near their city …

Things get stranger and stranger when they find out that the giant alien is killing select members of their community! Discover a world full of nostalgia, search for clues in the Video Buster Store, challenge other kids in the Laser Llamas Arcades, learn a new trick in The Emerald Sword Comic Store, try to get along with the punky-looking Lost Guys in their hiding place, or dare even ask THE BULL, the epitome of the 80s action hero, for help!

Follow the story that pays tribute to 80s classics like The Goonies, Explorers, Monster Squad, The Lost Boys, You Live, Terminator and Aliens, and gameplay that replicates the mechanics of point-and-click masterpieces like Full Throttle – Full Throttle combined with a unique twist and much more.

Your choices are important, and the way you let these three friends interact with each other increasingly affects their friendship and the whole story. They change, the way they solve the game puzzles, the places they visit, the answers they find, the story, everything.

Discover the truth behind the alien invasion. Why here? Why is it killing locals? How can the friends stop it? Will you be receiving the adult channel? You can find the answers to these and other questions … in Unusual Findings. ”

The following features are mentioned:

  • Follow a sci-fi story about growing up. Three friends fight together against unknown … things (maybe against some known things).
  • Look, take away and talk about action spaces, an inventory to use and combine items, and your wits – everything you need to play.
  • Stylish pixel art. All the charm of the pixel graphics of the past with more colors and the new effects of the future. Some pixels look so real they could almost pop off the screen.
  • The choices you make will affect the relationships between characters and thus the puzzles, gameplay, and story.
  • The most radical music a synthesizer can play. Cool popular synthwave music as well as catchy songs written exclusively for the game to add to the 80s vibe.
  • All of the 80’s flavors in a single game date back to a simpler time, where tapes were mixed, where the Commodores 64 was king, kids could play outside late at night, and the only thing to worry about was THE GIANT KILLER -ALIEN WAS WHO WANTS TO WAR YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS.
