PC implementation is not developed by Sony

Sony recently announced that the PC version of God of War (from 15,66€ at buy) will be released on January 14, 2022 via Steam and in the Epic Games Store. Promises include 4K resolution, 21: 9 support, unlimited refresh rate and improved graphics (higher resolution for shadows, improved reflections in the field of vision (SSR: Screen Space Reflections), SSDO, GTAO and more).

DLSS (fps boost) and reflex (latency reduction) are also supported by Nvidia. Compared to Arstechnica.com, Sony admitted that the implementation would not be tackled by the developer Sony Santa Monica itself, but would only be supervised by him. Jetpack Interactive was commissioned to implement the PC version.

According to the official website, the team has so far mainly gained experience with the support of other studios, e.g. for the titles NBA Live 14, 15, 16, Dark Souls or Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. that the developer was also involved in the PC implementation of Dark Souls (“Engineering Support for Steam upgrade”). Another port in the studio’s portfolio is the PS4 version of Orcs Must Die! Unchained.
