On last week’s Nintendo Direct, PlatinumGames unveiled a new trailer for Bayonetta 3 and since then, executive director Hideki Kamiya has told Xbox and PlayStation fans to “talk to Nintendo” if you want the game on other platforms.
As highlighted and translated by Kotaku, Kamiya mentioned that the chances of an Xbox or PlayStation launch “are not zero”, but then again, the chances of Mario and Zelda coming to the PS5 aren’t necessarily “zero” either.
“We are developing Bayonetta 3, as we did Bayonetta 2, with money we received from Nintendo. Since we are ‘just developing’, Nintendo has full voice over the product ”.
“It appears that the probability of Bayonetta 2 and Bayonetta 3 being ported to PS4 and Xbox is not zero. To be honest, the probability of most things isn’t necessarily zero! Just because it’s possible, however, doesn’t mean it will. So keep working hard to send your passionate requests to Nintendo. “
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard something like this from PlatinumGames, as the studio told fans about the Xbox exclusive cancellation Scalebound to write a letter to Xbox boss Phil Spencer if they wanted to see the game return.
Speaking of Scalebound, Bayonetta 3’s Yusuke Miyata was actually the lead designer of this game, and it has been suggested that Bayonetta 3 might even have some Scalebound influences in its mechanics. we don’t have any hope for Bayonetta 3 on Xbox (or Playstation), but as Kamiya says, chances are zero!
