PlayStation 5: New system update released

Before the turn of the year, Sony released another system update for the PlayStation 5. This should usually download automatically the next time you start the console. If this is not the case for you, you can push the download manually via the system settings.

However, you shouldn’t expect too much from the system update to version 21.02-04.50.00. With just over 900 megabytes, that’s anything but extensive. Groundbreaking features are just as unlikely to be expected as new content or spectacular bug fixes. In the patch notes it only says:

This system software update improves system performance

Sony does not reveal any details. However, even without a specific explanation, it is clear that the update 21.02-04.50.00 focuses on the general optimization of the PS5 system. According to initial reports, this is particularly noticeable in some games that you use with the help of backward compatibility on the PlayStation 5. In addition, the general system stability should show a slight improvement.
