Porsche designs exclusive e-sports cars for the racing game


A racing game that relies on licensed vehicles and does not offer a Porsche? Unthinkable. For the Gran Turismo 7 planned for March 2022 (from 69,98€ at However, the sports car manufacturer from Zuffenhausen has something special ready: As the colleagues from VentureBeat report, Porsche has designed a virtual car especially for the game.

In a detailed interview, Deniz Keskin, Director of Brand Management and Partnerships at Porsche, went into more detail about the motivations and challenges, but also the possibilities of the design process, which took a whopping three years. They worked very closely with the Sony Polyphony Digital studio to make the “Porsche Vision Gran Turismo” one of the very special vehicles in the simulation.

Among other things, Keskin stated that this project was approached like any other vehicle design. The result is a “concept car for maybe 2030.” Although it has a futuristic look, attempts have been made to remain realistic so that nothing is built in that doesn’t seem possible. The biggest challenge with the compact e-sports car is making sure that it looks like a Porsche and expresses what the brand stands for.
