The release of Battlefield 2042 (from 37,99€ at buy) was anything but smooth. The advance access in particular was plagued by disconnections and other problems. If the current statements of the well-known and usually well-informed insider Tom Henderson are true, the turbulent times seem far from over.
The leaker recently spoke up on Twitter and reported on several things related to Battlefield 2042. Among other things, he explained that other natural disasters were originally planned for the launch version of the first-person shooter, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis . However, since the developers lacked the necessary time, the focus was only on the tornadoes that can be seen in the current version of the game. But things also look anything but good for the post-launch plans of Battlefield 2042: “Also, the post-launch plans for the title are completely in the can. Everything I said about the post-launch plans before the game was released, you can just ignore it. The past few months have been pretty exhausting … And I’m not even one of the developers. “
Tom Henderson did not give any further details in this regard. But apparently things are not going very smoothly at DICE and the work on Battlefield 2042. This was already indicated by the short-term postponement of the release (we reported). Neither the developers nor the publisher Electronic Arts have commented on this matter yet.
