Pre-beta demo of the action RPG is available on Xbox Series X | S, first developer diary published

As publisher Prime Matter and the development team from GoldKnight announce, the first public pre-beta stress test of the action role-playing game The Last Oricru has started. As part of the ID @ Xbox demo event of the Winter Game Fest, owners of the Xbox Series X | S can get a first impression of the game.

In the demo, which can be downloaded from the Xbox Store, you can face the challenging battles in the first two areas and deal with the first game-changing decisions in the plot. These decide not only about the belief of the main character Silver, but also about the belief of the entire planet Wardenia. In addition, The Last Oricru offers a local co-op mode, in which you can get in and out of the game at any time.

At the same time, a chunk of current screenshots and two new videos were published. The first chapter of the developer diary introduces the ideas and intentions behind The Last Oricru and gives insights into the development. The updated overview trailer, on the other hand, takes a deeper look at the most important functions of the action role-playing game

GoldKnight and Prime Matter describe the game, which is due to appear on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S in 2022, as follows:

The Last Oricru is a plot-oriented action RPG that puts players: Inside the middle of an ongoing conflict between two races on a partially terraformed planet that is isolated from space by a protective barrier. Your choices bring interesting twists and turns to the gameplay that greatly influence the conflict and its outcome. You will experience hundreds of intense battles in a brutal medieval world where every decision has its consequences. They improve their heroes, optimize their skills before they face one of the many boss fights.

Captivating story
– The Last Oricru offers the chance to immerse yourself in the forgotten past of a fascinating world. Players: Inside uncover the conspiracy behind the events that take place during the game. They let the conflicting parties understand their motives for the fight or they ignore everything and everyone and just let the world burn. The Last Oricru story is complex and players may need several iterations to bring all of the pieces together.

Influential decisions – A huge decision tree in which decisions in the game lead to different results that affect the story, the characters, the end of the game, but also the appearance of the levels and even the flow of the game. Every action, every sub-task and every life taken can affect the reputation of the players with the individual factions. There are several ways to play through The Last Oricru and no right or wrong decision. However, all decisions will determine the fate of the world, in the truest sense of the word.

Demanding fights
– The fights are easy to learn but difficult to master and aim to create a difficult but rewarding experience. Melee and ranged weapons with unique attack animations and secondary abilities, shields, techno-magical items, weight management and an upgrade system offer a wide range of customization options for your own play style. On the journey through different areas of the war-torn world, players will encounter various mass struggles in which they can prove their loyalty by standing by their comrades-in-arms, but also fighting their way through unsuspecting and surprised opponents.

Couch-Buy – The Last Oricru is designed to make co-op a one-of-a-kind experience. For example, players can find fun new ways to defeat bosses or access special secret areas. The classic RPG character status system enables everyone to specialize their own character individually, so that the advantages of the variety of roles can be used: Whether powerful “tank”, archer or magician duo with their own co-op magic to wreak havoc among the enemies. Even classic swordsmen can hack through enemies side by side in The Last Oricru.
