SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio released Lost Judgment (from 57,99€ at buy) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the game you take on the role of Takayuki Yagami, a private detective who defends those who are not under the protection of the law. Lost Judgment (as the successor to Judgment) was developed by the makers of the Yakuza series and is intended to combine elements of detective work, dark stories and action in combat.
Features (according to the manufacturer):
- Investigative Action: Use Yagami’s arsenal of private detective tricks to gather clues, from high-tech gadgets like drones and wiretapping devices to tough investigative methods like climbing buildings and tracking down suspects in the streets of the city.
- Freeform Combat: Master Yagami’s three unique, combo-heavy martial arts styles to handle any situation, from assaults to takedowns. The style can be further adjusted in the talent tree. In the street fighting, Yagami armed himself with traffic cones, street signs, bicycles and more.
- Undercover: Yagami is investigating undercover at the local high school. Several crimes related to his case have been reported there. He joins the dance club and grooves to the rhythm, in the Robotics Club his ingenuity is in demand, in the boxing club he has to assert himself against tough opponents and in a bike gang he earns his respect by winning races.
- Conquer the streets: it’s worth taking a break! The cultural sites in Kamurocho and Ijincho are worth a visit. Nightlife can be explored in bars and other hotspots. Detective skills can be used in side missions to help people in need – you never know whose help might be of use. “
The “School Stories” expansion package will follow on October 26th, and will contain other activities that can be carried out in the school’s clubs. These include fights in the boxing ring with special sparring partners or speed races on the new gang motorcycle. In addition, new skins and movements await in the dance team. If you want to rule the robotics club, you can even assemble a new robot. In addition to the standard martial arts, a new fighting style is also introduced, which is intended to shift the action in the boxing ring to the street.
Lost Judgment will continue to be supplied with new content in 2022. The expansion “The Kaito-Files” is promised for the coming spring. There will be a additional story with Masaharu Kaito, the partner of Yagamis.
