Quantic Dream officially announces its game in a galaxy far, far away

Since September there has been a persistent rumor that the developer studio Quantic Dream (Detroit: Become Human) is allegedly working on a game in the Star Wars universe (we reported). This rumor now became a certainty: At The Game Awards 2021, the team presented their latest work, Star Wars: Eclipse, with an impressive trailer. However, as part of the event, Quantic Dream was stingy with specific details about content, release date and other aspects of the game.

The only thing that is certain is that the project is still in a relatively early development phase and will therefore probably not appear before the year 2023. However, the trailer gives at least some hints about the story. This seems to be set in the era of the High Republic, which is known to take place around 200 years before the events of Star Wars Episode 1. Among other things, the trailer shows Yoda for a few seconds, who is already a Jedi Grand Master this era. Other Jedi with lightsabers can also be recognized, but their identity has not yet been clarified. There are also references to the trade union. Apparently there will even be no lack of effectively staged spatial battles.

Quantic Dream also did not reveal for which platforms Star Wars Eclipse appears. However, if the release takes place in 2023 at the earliest, a release on the PC, the PS5 and the Xbox Series X | S can be assumed.
