Residual: The non-violent struggle for survival has begun

On September 9, 2021, the Dutch developer Pascal Bestebroer alias Orangepixel (Heroes of Loot) and indie publisher Apogee Entertainment released the 2D survival platform Residual for PC and Nintendo Switch. Via GOG and Steam, where a free demo is also available, in contrast to the eShop, a launch discount of 15 percent on the regular retail price of the non-violent pixel art platformers is granted (16.99 euros instead of 19.99 euros). Implementations for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S are scheduled to follow in early 2022.

In the game, which is reminiscent of Terraria, you have to make an emergency landing on a strange planet and only ensure survival in the company of a hovering bot assistant. You explore a procedurally generated world, build campfires, look for food and make tools. Later you come across technological relics with which you might be able to repair your spaceship. You can also solve puzzles and learn more about the past of the planet.
