Retro platformer launches December 2nd; Part of the proceeds will be donated to a children’s hospital

The background story to the Castle on the Coast, which is reminiscent of classic 3D platformer like Banjo Kazooie, but also more modern offshoots like Yooka-Laylee, is a special one: The main character “George the Giraffe” is the official mascot of the Valley Children’s Hospital in the US State of California. Why was a giraffe chosen? Because the founders of the children’s hospital chose the land mammal with the biggest heart to represent the clinic’s orientation! Thanks to the support of publisher Klabater and the development team at Big Heart Productions, George is now the lead actor in a video game.

As early as December 2, 2021, he can hop through a magical castle, collect heaps of things in the classic manner and try to uncover the secret of the coastal chateau in the inviting halls, vaults and even other dimensions. The release will take place first on PC and Switch, versions for PlayStation and Xbox will follow a little later.

From November 29th, Castle on the Coast can be pre-ordered as part of Cyber Monday with a ten percent discount. Part of the proceeds will be passed on to the Valley Children’s Hospital.

“Valley Children’s aims to preserve the joy of childhood for every patient we are allowed to care for. Whether it is a book with our beloved mascot George or a cuddly toy modeled on him, we are grateful for the opportunity to sharing that love and joy with our families. This video game – the first of its kind in a children’s hospital in the country – is another way to bring some fun to the kids. And now kids around the world can help George make the journey through that Castle to deal with “said Todd Suntrapak, President and CEO of Valley Children’s Healthcare.
