Rockstar Games has issued a apology hair “state” of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition at launch, explaining that it didn’t “meet our own quality standards, or the standards our fans expect.”
In a blog post on the Rockstar website, the company explained that it plans to “resolve the technical issues and improve each game going forward“, promising that the games “will reach the level of quality they deserve to be..”
“The Grand Theft Auto series – and the games that make up this iconic trilogy – are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games have not been released in a state that matches our quality standards or the standards our fans have come to expect. “
The first update will arrive in the coming days to address “a number of issues”, with more details to follow.
Rockstar also said that the developers of the Ultimate Edition were harassed on social media, urging the community to “please maintain a respectful and civilized speech around this release as we work on these issues.”
“Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work with these updates to ensure these games meet everyone’s justifiably high standards.”
