Unfortunately, we have some rather sad news to share with you. Turns out, the rumors we shared with you recently turned out to be true and Stalker 2 was actually delayed by a few months, more specifically to December 8th of this year.
In a message posted on social media, the developer explained that the “decision is not easy”, but the team believes that “development should take as long as it takes, especially in the case of such a project”:
“These seven additional months of development are necessary to fulfill our vision and achieve the desired state of the game,” explains the update. The developers added that the game is undergoing “complete testing and polishing” and what more than game will be shown at the end of the year.
Yesterday, the game was gaining traction on social media after a Ukrainian YouTuber claimed it would be delayed until the end of the year, prompting a community manager at GSC Game World to ask fans to wait for official information.
Unfortunately, it came to fruition, and now we’ll have to wait until the end of the year to get our hands on it. The upside is that it’s been great so far, so fingers crossed turns out to be worth the wait in December.
Surprised by this, or were you expecting a delay? Let us know down in the comments section below.
