SpellForce 3 Reforced: Console versions won’t come until next year

As THQ Nordic reports, the console versions of the strategy / role-playing game mix SpellForce 3 Reforced will be late. Originally planned for a release at the beginning of December, the versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which can also be played on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, will now appear on March 8, 2022.

Owners of the PC version of SpellForce 3 can, as planned, upgrade to the Reforced Edition free of charge on December 6, 2021, the details and changes of which will be specified by the publisher as follows:

Details about the Reforced Edition
Compared to the original version of SpellForce III there are various improvements and new features, for example in the single player campaign

  • improved RTS mechanics and revised faction design, as already known from the two expansions
  • revised skill trees of the heroes
  • improved quests
  • improved buy mode
  • better distribution of prey
  • optimized balancing
  • Hub has been completely redesigned
  • all campaign / quest logic problems are fixed

In addition to the campaign features, the Reforced Edition offers a visually and functionally revised user interface, full gamepad support and new content:

  • a new skirmish card
  • the “Journey Mode”: A new game mode which, similar to the “Free Game Mode” known from SpellForce 1, offers over 20 hours of independent content with a high replay value – also in co-op!
  • Journey Skirmish: Play with your highly bred Journey heroes in PvP against other players
  • Arena mode: A new, endless game mode. Start with a new hero and defeat waves of enemies, buy equipment and spells and compete with other players in rankings – also playable in co-op!
  • Mod support for the new Journey and Arena modes: create your own Journey or Arena maps and share them with the community (a PC-exclusive feature)
