.TALKER 2 was supposed to be out on April 28, 2022, but developer GSC Game World has bad news in that regard. The studio announced on Twitter that the action game’s release date had been postponed to December 8, 2022.
The statement said that the decision to postpone the game “was not an easy one”. But this should make it possible to deliver a game “that can live up to expectations”. The developers also write: “These additional seven months of development are necessary to fulfill our vision and to achieve the desired state of the game. STALKER 2 is the largest project in the history of GSC, and it needs to be thoroughly tested and optimized. We are convinced that development should take as long as necessary, especially on a project like this. ”
The statement ends with a promise to fans that more information, updates and showcases for the game will come in due course and that the team has “an exciting and important year ahead”. Following the announcement of NFTs in STALKER 2, the postponement of the release date is likely to be an even bigger disappointment for fans. At least the developers have rowed back with their NFT integration (we reported).
STALKER 2 will now be available on December 8, 2022 for the Xbox Series X | S and PC. The game will be available to all Game Pass subscribers as soon as it is released.
