Studio founder leaves the company after twelve years

As Alan Hartman from Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studio (Forza Motorsport) told his colleagues from Windows Central in an interview, Gavin Raeburn, one of the co-founders and studio boss of Playground Games, will be leaving the company. He is being replaced by the previous general manager Trevor Williams, who is also one of the co-founders of the studio, which caused a sensation, especially with the open-world racing games Forza Horizon.

In Hartmann’s words: “After 12 years working on five award-winning Forza Horizon games, Gavin Raeburn is leaving Playground Games as studio director. As a founding member of Playground Games, we thank Gav for his leadership and contributions to the Forza franchise and wish him well.”

As Hartman also stated, Playground Games is of course still focused on creating more content and updates for Forza Horizon 5. And of course they are still working intensively on the restart of Fable – a title that has not yet been seen aside from an interesting teaser.

There is no information yet as to what Gavin Raeburn’s future plans are. Prior to founding Playground Games in 2009 and the success story that followed called Forza Horizon, he was with Codemasters for 24 years.
