The alleged Star Wars game by the Detroit developers is said to be Star Wars Eclipse

In September the first rumors surfaced that Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Fahrenheit, Omikron: The Nomad Soul) was working on an action title from the Star Wars universe (we reported). As the colleagues from Gamesradar report, citing a podcast by Giantbomb, these rumors seem to turn out to be correct.

Accordingly, the title should be called Star Wars Eclipse and should be set in the era of the High Republic, which is only about 200 years before the events of the film episodes 1 to 3. This time was marked by a phase of peace, also due to the widespread Jedi Knights, who practically without interference from the Senate in the galaxy took care of compliance with the law.

GiantBomb’s Jeff Grubb believes the game “will likely be showing up somewhere soon.” For example, the December Game Awards could be such an event or it could be part of Disney’s Bring Home The Bounty campaign. He goes on to say that the game is “ready for an early announcement.”

Apart from the time period and the presumed title, details are still few and far between. Given Quantic Dream’s previous titles, which have focused more on narrative and decisions and consequences, it will be interesting to see what the studio’s approach to an action game will be.
