The best games of 2021 according to Metacritic audiences

As every year, Metacritic invited users to vote for the best video games of the year and in 2021 the challenge was particularly exciting as it was resolved into a near-tap tie between 343 Industries and Arkane, but that ultimately went to Deathloop.

It is not a ranking prepared based on the metasore attributed by the public, in this case, but a new vote that was carried out through a survey in recent days, open to registered users on the Metacritic portal. So let’s see the ranking of the best games of 2021 according to the site’s audience:

  1. Deathloop – 1299 pontos
  2. Halo Infinite – 1296
  3. Metroid Dread – 1127
  4. Forza Horizon 5 – 1061
  5. It Takes Two – 989
  6. FFXIV Endwalker – 898
  7. RE Village – 731
  8. Psychonauts 2 – 721
  9. Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart – 582
  10. Returnal- 515

As seen Halo Infinite and Deathloop almost tie, but Arkane barely managed to get a few more votes that put him in the lead. As also reported in the title of the rankings, it is perhaps the first time that a first place has been awarded with a difference of just three points among the thousands that bring the various titles, but Deathloop ultimately won by just 3 points in Halo Infinite.

However, this is yet another confirmation of the extraordinary year for Xbox Game Studios, with four games in the top ten between Arkane’s immersive sim first, the new Halo chapter, Forza Horizon 5 in room and Psychonauts 2 in eighth.

Also noteworthy is Metroid Dread closing the podium and the usual It Takes Two here in fifth position.
