The fourth major patch is here; first live event started

As developer Amplitude and publisher Sega report, the strategy game Humankind (from 39,99€ at buy) the fourth major patch has been released. You can see below what will change with the update. In addition, support for modding tools was built in, but this is limited to Mod.io for the time being. Support for Steam Workshop will follow later.

In addition, an event called “Día de los Muertos” was started. Until November 30th, challenges can be accepted in Humankind, through which you can earn special symbols, decorations and the Catrina avatar preset for the collection.

Patch # 4 for Humankind contains the following updates:

GAME SETTINGS

  • Resources in abundance
New map settings for resource abundance will be added that will allow you to control the amount of luxury and strategic resources on the map. This should allow you to customize the level of conflict or cooperation required for success.
  • Avatar and Persona System
We added a “random persona” option when choosing your opponents. So if you prefer to be surprised during your match, you can now face an unknown opponent. We’re also adding a button on the Persona screen that will allow you to upload or download it to Games2Gether if you’re playing on a different PC than usual.
  • Color selection settings
We added a color picker to the game settings that allows you to customize the color of the subtitles and the empire colors available, including presets for common forms of color blindness.

GAME SPEED AND BALANCING

  • Neolithic age
Changes to the Neolithic era to slow growth and limit the early power spike that can be brought about by delaying the ancient era (less food from sanctuaries, stronger mammoths).
  • Lategame
Aligning the cost of technology and buildings with the resource yields achieved by our players, as well as the stability effects of districts and wondrous luxury resources that make it harder to maintain a very high level of stability in the late game.
  • Cultures
We have rebalanced some cultures, especially those that have been criticized most often as being too strong or too weak. We have also revised the combat strength and cost of units, both emblematic and general units.
  • Regulations
We have revised the effects of several regulations, including nuclear disarmament. ‘
  • Affinitäten
We also rebalanced expansionist affinity to make it more attractive.

Humankind was released on August 17, 2021 and is available for PC. Last current video: Dia de los Muertos event
