Since the release of Kena: Bridge of Spirits on PlayStation and PC platforms last week, Xbox gamers may also want to play with this game. Unfortunately, there are no concrete plans for a launch on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, but recent comments from developer Ember Lab inspire some hope.
In a conversation with SegmentNext, the question arose as to whether the game would reach other platforms. While co-founder Josh Grier reiterated that the game is a “temporary exclusive” for PlayStation and Epic Games Store, has been added that the studio plans to look at other platform releases after “a rest”.
“Right now, we’re focused on our PlayStation and Epic Games store releases, which are temporary exclusives. We’ll look at other platform releases after launch and take a break.”
The team also added, “Right now, with just a few days to launch, it’s very difficult to think about next steps or future offerings.” Of course, it’s understandable, given the fact that the game has just come out and the Sony contract certainly prevents it from being mentioned alongside rival Xbox.
The comments about being a temporary exclusive are no surprise. Exploring the original trailer for Kena: Bridge of Spirits last year, it was revealed at the time that it was a temporary exclusive console. With such a positive reception to the game (81 no Metacrict), Xbox is expected to be in the cards.
