The structure of the “open world” is reminiscent of Monster Hunter

The Pokmon Company compared Kotaku with the structure of the “open world” of Pokmon legends: Arceus (ab 59,99 at pre-order) after it has been discussed over and over again in the last few days how “open” the game world is in the end. Accordingly, the game will not offer a completely open game world like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U), but rather be based on Monster Hunter or Xenoblade Chronicles 2 with defined areas. There are therefore several open areas, which do not result in a coherent world, but are only connected by a central starting point (jubilee village). There are also similarities to the nature zone from Pokmon Sword and Shield and the tundra from the expansion “The Snowy Lands of the Crown”.

The official description reads: “In the Hisui region there is a place called Jubeldorf. This serves as a base for the galactic expedition, whose members have come from numerous other regions to explore Hisui. (…) Jubeldorf also serves as a base for yours Research Missions. When you have received a mission and are ready for your next exploration, you will set out from this village to explore one of the many areas in the Hisui region prepare for the next task. “

The turn-based combat system (attack types: Strong Style vs. Agile Style) also seems to be based on a Capcom title, namely Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (Power, Speed and Technical). Pokmon Legends: Arceus, the prequel to Pokmon: Diamond & Pearl, will be released on January 28, 2022.
