In addition to a new trailer, Warner Bros Games has finally published the official release date for Legi Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga after several postponements. According to this, the adventure in the faraway galaxies will start on April 5, 2022.
The new trailer offers an in-depth look at the mechanics of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The game modifies the proven LEGO formula and offers players more options to customize their gaming experience. You can choose at the beginning whether the game starts with the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy or the sequel trilogy. So fans of every Star Wars period have the opportunity to start where they want. The later episodes are then unlocked as the game progresses.
In addition to the story missions, you have a lot of playful freedom, for example to take part in side missions and to explore the foreign galaxies on your own. In open world style, you can travel from planet to planet and unlock the galaxy map. Of course, you travel in iconic Star Wars spaceships, with which space battles can also be fought.
The style of play also gives you freedom: there are many paths to the goal in the missions. Players can, for example, act stealthily and quietly or charge into the opponents with the blasters first. There will also be a character upgrade system. In the trailer, we already get a glimpse of the more than 300 playable characters from the Star Wars universe. Collected Kyber Stones can be used to purchase upgrades for each character and invest in classes including Jedi, Hero, Scavenger, Scoundrel, Bounty Hunter, Villain, Dark Side, Astromech Droid, and Protocol Droid.
Of course, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga does not lack the popular humor of the Lego games. The trailer ends with a look at some fun extras that can be unlocked to transform the gaming experience. This includes mumbling mode, in which the characters simply murmur sounds to themselves, just like in the good old days of Lego games.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
