Wild Hunt postponed to 2022


The release of the next-generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Complete Edition) have been postponed by CD Projekt Red. The latest rumors have thus been confirmed. The board of directors of the Polish company writes that, based on the recommendations of the people overseeing the development, they decided to allow additional development time to both projects. You have probably learned from the CP2077 launch debacle. The share price (PLOPTTC00011) of CD Projekt Red fell after the announcement by more than eight percent and was at 7:00 p.m. at 40.22 euros (-6.24%; previous day’s closing price: 42.72 euros).

The company currently plans to launch the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 in the first quarter of 2022 (January to March) for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S and the new version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the second quarter of 2022 (April to March) June) for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. Originally, both versions should appear this year.

According to CD Projekt Red, the “Complete Edition” of The Witcher 3 will offer some technical and graphical improvements to the base game and the two extensions, such as ray tracing and faster loading times. It will appear as a stand-alone version for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Owners of the game on PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will receive a free upgrade to the improved version as soon as it becomes available. With the free update from the normal version to the next-gen version, the PC version will also receive HDR support. The next-generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not developed directly by CD Projekt Red, but is created in collaboration with Saber Interactive.
