Xbox cancels orders after accidentally releasing a brand new game for free

Someone on the Xbox team must have had a rough day a few weeks ago, as the next racing game Blaze and the Monster Machines: Axle City Racers not only was it released earlier than it should have been on the Microsoft Store, but it also had a 100% discount, enabling Xbox users can take it off entirely for free for a short period of time.

As you can imagine, the game went quickly. picked up from the store in a few hours, and Microsoft has now started to withdraw these ‘orders’ and take away access to the title from those who claimed the 100% discount:

The good Xbox giveth, and the good Xbox taketh away. Blaze was listed as a free game in the store. from XboxSeriesX

Despite this, a lot of people actually got a chance to play Blaze and Monster Machines: Axle City Racers before release, although the game isn’t due for release until October. In fact, if you take a look at YouTube, there are even complete achievement guides that have been created for it, along with additional gameplay videos.

Hopefully, this bug didn’t do much damage, and you never know, it might even have created a buzz for the title before its release in a few weeks. It must have been a few hours of panic for the developers though!
