Xbox has added touch or touch controls to a wide range of Xbox Game Pass games for use with Cloud Gaming in the past year, and Microsoft today revealed that they are proving to be a success, with nearly 20% of xCloud players using them exclusively.

As highlighted by The Verge, Xbox Senior Program Manager Monty Hernandez explained that the company has seen “on average, an increase in 2x no uso of titles available via Xbox Cloud Gaming, in all genres, that implement touch controls”.

In addition, some selected titles boast 30% of players using touch controls exclusively:

  • Hades
  • New Super Lucky’s Tale
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Dragon’s Quest XI
  • Minecraft Dungeons
  • Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition

They seem to be heading in a good way and, according to Hernandez, the key to their success is that the touch-enabled games included in Cloud Gaming are “relevant and, most importantly, they work well with touch controls”.
